The players:
Gaeta - newbie, doesn't know the series Galen - me, 25+ games, fan of the series Cally - about 10 games, fan of the series Apollo - about 5 games, is watching series as we speak Starbuck - 25+ games, saw the complete series once
Yes, I know: there's no Political Leader, but we all played characters we wanted to play AND with four of the five characters drawing politics, we figured it would be ok.
I played Galen and got a "You're a Cylon" right away (Can send someone to the Brig). I wanted to play it slow. So all goes well enough for the Humans. I spiked the skill checks once or twice. I guess destiny was on my side. Resources went down even when I didn't spike the skill checks.
Sleeperphase comes up, and I got another You're a Cylon (Reduce the jumptrack). Awesome.
After a couple of turns Galactica is in bad shape: 3 locations damaged (including FTL), Cylons all over the board, jumptrack still at the start, Apollo and Starbuck flying their Vipers doing what they do best. I got an XO from Starbuck to go and repair.
I reveal, putting Admiral Gaeta in the brick. I figured: he could do the most damage to the basestars and he has engineering cards to repair Galactica. I pass my other "You're a Cylon" card to Cally. She can execute a player (morale was in the red zone), and she has the most engineering.
Gaeta wants to prove he's all Human and XO's Starbuck to save some civvies. On Cally's next turn, she decides to brig Apollo. The skill check fails only by 2 points. Where's that frakkin' Tigh when you need him?! Probably "questioning the Six". The Humans dicide they can't have a soft-revealed Cylon running around free on Galactica. So Apollo moves to the Admiral's Quarters and says he wants to brig Cally.
I knew at this point: they will succeed, so we'll have to make the most of it. If Cally ends up in the Brig, she could execute Gaeta. Time to Roll a hard Six and bluff: I said to Cally: "This could be our DOWNFALL, Cally. Our DOWNFALL. We have to throw in our higest cards now, I have a good one." She got the point. "Yellow and Red, right? Don't worry I've got quite a few." We both threw in low cards, actually helping the Humans. The Humans overshot the skill check by far, using almost all their remaining leadership and tactics cards.
And so the game continues, the humans getting closer and closer to one final jump. Starbuck shoots down raiders. Apollo nukes a basestar. Gaeta tries to break out of the brig and fails. I collected Super Crisis cards, both not worth a frakkin' dime. Cally decides to execute Gaeta, bringing morale down to 2. Apollo is then executed because of a crisis card. Gaeta becomes Baltar, Apollo becomes Boomer. Resources are at fuel 4, food 3, morale 1, population 3.
The game comes down to one dice roll for the final jump. Good thing Gaeta is dead. I really thought it would be a Cylon win. Baltar rolls a clean 8. Humans jump and win.
I never realised it at the time, when I hinted to Cally with the whole "Downfall" thingy. She replied: "Yellow and Red, right?" Yellow and Red combined is: Orange. As in Agent Orange. Smart girl.

I should have mentioned this, but he had already been in the brig early in the game. He attempted to break out once and failed. The second turn he decided to use his OPG. After escaping the brig he did have a crucial role in some skill checks. I wouldn't have done it myself, but we have a houserule: let the newbie decide. If experienced players tell new players what to do every turn, the newbie won't enjoy the game as he should.
And this particular game I was a Cylon.. so I kept extra quiet
