hi everybody.

i'm in a strange situation. I bought a copy of the base set from one online vendor and several expansions (daedalus, equipament cards, several minis) from CSI.

My base set haven't arrived yet, but the expansions are all here. I have no clue how long it will take to get the base set, but i guess i can play with the expansions, right? i have the map, i have the minis, i have the equipament cards, i have lots of d10, i can buy the rules online.

can i do it? or do i need something that comes with the base set?

thanks a lot.

normally, squads consist of 3 heroes + 2 troopers. You could of course play with fewer (if both sides have the same amt of course). When i teach the game to new players, the first game or two have less characters anyway.

You should have plenty of crate tokens (which arent really neccesary), so you could play deathmatch games until then w/o problem:

- you'll need something to keep track of Command Points.
- you'll need something to indicate activated characters
- you'll need something to indicate Overwatch status

think that's all you really need

If you want to play a mode that requires flags (capture the flag, domination), you'll need to use something to stand in for those for each faction.

In order to play objective mode, you really need the objective tokens that come with the base set/novgorod/hinansho as each side has specific, unique primary objective tokens for that side. plus it's better if you have a full squad to select a good skill set - i'd hold off on this mode.

scenarios/story mode often requires flags, objective tokens, and full squads so i'd hold off on those too

Also, as long as you d/l and read the rules or have some way to read and know the rules you should be okay.
