I dont have the game in front of me at the moment, but some occupations say something like "Add rounds 4, 10, and 14 to the game". Does this mean that those round cards that get flipped over continue to be in use for the rest of the game? Or do they get flipped back down until they become in use like normal?
Please help me with this, Thanks.

I believe this is referring to adding some amount of resource on-top of the respective round cards. When the game hits that particular round, you reap those resources automatically.

Jonathan has it. The cards you (mis)quoted say something like "Add 3, 6, and 10 to the current round and place X on the corresponding round card. At the beginning of that round, you receive the X".
To my knowledge there are no abilities that add new round cards to the game out-of-turn. There's one that lets you rearrange upcoming round cards, but they still stay unrevealed until the corresponding round starts.

So if it is Round 3, and you play one of those occupations (can't remember the names, though one came up the last time I played the other night), you place the appropriate resources on future rounds 7, 10 and 13 (or whatever - this would be for a card which said add 4, 7 and 10 to the current round). The person who played the card then gets the resources at the start of those rounds.

There I actually a card that let's you bring in the family growth with room action prematurely...but only for the player who plays the card. Sorry I don't know which one off the top of my head.

Chamberlain allows the player to use rounds 12 to 14 from round 11.

there is one that allows you to add the 2 wood card from the 2player game in the 4 player game (I had it on Saturday) and a few others like it but they are available immediately
