i am a gamer from Turkey. Since there are no local board game stores here, i usually order boardgames from abroad. For non-language dependent games, i usually prefer amazon.de because of its low shipping cost to Turkey. I know PoF is a bit language dependent but i have found an English version at amazon.de located at http://www.amazon.de/Rio-Grande-Games-168-Florence/dp/B0007Y...
However, i like to buy the recent version with 2p rules and expansion included. The pictures shown in product page are of the old version. Amazon does not give information in the product page. I asked both Amazon and Rio Grande about it to no avail. it there anyone bought from Amazon.de (or maybe other amazon sites, since all of them have the photos of the old version) recently who can confirm the version of it? thanks in advance.

By the cover it doe look like the Alea version which is much inferior to the pro ludo one in terms of quality of components and art. To the best of my knowledge it does not contain the expansions.
It has very few language dependent components (only a few cards if I am not mistaken)
The version you are looking for should look like this

To my knowledge, the version with improved graphics was never released in english. There recently was an Alea reprint, however, that while keeping the Alea graphics, included the Muse and Princess expansion introduced in the "Euro" versions.
I don't think there's a way to tell at first glance whether an Alea box is a new or old one, however... Maybe an edition date somewhere on the box ? But that would be hard to know when buying online.

thanks to both of you. the only given information is model number (168RGG) and amazon standard identification number-ASIN (B0007YDBLY) that does not provide much information.
only language dependent components are bonus and prestige cards. but i do not want to use a lookup table for them, since it takes some of the joy. i guess i will order from US, even though the shipping will be higher thanks again.
