My daughter and I started playing a two player game of 7 Wonders and have a question about how you have to play the cards on the Free City. There is a part in the Rules that says "if the card chosen for the Free City can benefit from a free construction (chain), this free construction MUST be performed". Does this mean only the card that is drawn Must be played if it is part of a chain card or any card in the person's hand that can be played as a chain must be played on the Free City? Do they have to play a chain card at all if they can play something else on the Free city? I kind of read this as the person with the Free City card had to play a chain card if possible so that you couldn't just use the free city to give you money all the time by having them buying your resources.

It means you can't have the Free City choose to pay for a card it can build for free (for example, by buying the resources from you...)
And yes, 7 Wonders forum would be a more appropriate place for this thread.

This only applies if you have a tool that can Bake Bread. Otherwise, you can only convert the chain to one food after the harvest. However, if the card allows you to have sheep, boar or cattle, you may use them for food only if you have the appropriate cooking device, although this can be done as a free action.
