Shocking, whatever next, an attack on intelegent design. When are scientists going to realise that those who are ot experts know more then those that are.

I looked through the article for the part about putting meteorologists against the wall and shooting them, or sending them to re-education camps, or even just having them fired from their jobs and exiled into homelessness, but apparently the Global Warming Politburo had those parts censored. Now all it talks about is asking the American Meteorological Society to issue a statement on climate change. But of course, that's where it starts, isn't it? First they issue a statement; next thing you know the black helicopters are coming to snatch weathermen who won't toe the party line.

If only the heroic deniers had a means to get their message out without being blocked at every turn. If only there were a... a journal, let's say, perhaps one published for Wall Street, that would print the brilliant and fact-independent words of sixteen people with some connection to Science. Then the truthiness would come out for sure!

As for publicizing the names and stations of the deniers - whatever. Those guys put themselves out there with their comments; they're fair game for people to disagree with (and, when they say stupid shit, to mock). If Forecast the Facts were putting their home addresses and phone numbers out there, that would be a serious problem.

BJ, don't your panties chafe from getting wadded up so much?

Wow—the paranoia displayed here is breathtaking. This is a joke, right?

Scientists are urging weather forecasters to tell the truth about well-established science? Absolutely scandalous. Next thing you know, they'll be teaching science in public schools.

Climate "skeptic" forecasters hardly keep their identity a secret. In fact, they'll welcome the extra publicity.

To be honest, I thought the first quote block was actually from an RSP post rather than the article.

“These climate denier meteorologists are betraying the public’s trust and distorting America’s airwaves with ideological science denial,”

If they actually said this, that is sad. This statement was made an overly exited middle school girl while fondling a Justin Bieber doll. Enough with the fucking drama already.

BJ,

It would be easier to take you seriously on this subject if you didn't resort to constantly belittling your opponents, exaggerating what they are doing, or quoting articles that do both.

It appears that phase one of their inquisition ...

In addition to silencing the deniers, Forecast the Facts (a more ironic name they could not have chosen) has decided to try to force the AMS to subscribe to their creed or face the jihad...

If only they had that kind of fervor to get a worthwhile message out instead of one of big government and oppression like the message of the Goracle.

Are you expecting coherent discussion, or just showing off your hyperbole skills?

As a dedicated lurker to these fora I've always migrated to the posts of those with an opposing view to mine who are able to discuss issues intelligently and with reason. I mean, I already know what and why I think about a subject. I want to know what the opposing side thinks and hopefully glean a little bit of understanding from a different side.

Unfortunately, I can no longer deny the continuing slide of one of my favorite posters into the nether regions of irrational hyperbole and vitriol and have to declare that he has officially jumped the shark in my estimate. I hope he comes back.

Guide to identifying climate wacko's:

Step 1. Do they reference or show Al Gore for absolutely no reason?

If yes, go to step 2.

Step 2. Wacko.
