Hi. We played our first game the other day and we got two Peasant Uprising Old World cards in slot 1 and 2. Are these cumulative? Count each Peasant token twice thus adding 2 to the resistance for each token?

Thanks

Never had a similar situation, but I'd say no. Both cards will add peasant tokens (a crapload of peasants, to be sure) and uprising will probably last for the duration of game (minimum 4 turns, until both cards get removed from OW track), but I wouldn't say they both enhance the resistance of region. It just doesn't thematically make sense IMO.

Some uprisings are bigger and more difficult to deal with than others. For a real-world analog, the Romans dealt with many slave revolts, but they remembered the one with Spartacus. That would have been the two card variety.

Cards are cumulative if they can add to something. Since each card is adding 1, then 2 cards in play add 2.

If the cards said something like, "the resistance level is set to 5," then playing a 2nd card like that would just still set it at 5.

2 cards means you add twice as many peasants to each region.

The effect of the card "peasant tokens increase the resistance value of the region" is the same on both cards so it would only apply once. So that each token adds 1 (not 2) to the resistance value of the region.

This is wrong.

Each card would be applied once, from left to right. So for the first card you add one to the resistance. Then for the second card you add one to the resistance. As ColtsFan said, if the effect had a hard number it would be different (for example, if there were two copies of a card that said "it now takes 15 corruption to ruin a region," after applying it once the number is changed from 12 to 15 and then after applying the second the number is changed from 15 to 15), but it's additive so they both apply.

Official answer finally from FFG:

"Yes, the effects are cumulative. While both cards are in effect, each peasant will raise the resistance of the corresponding region by two. Unless stated otherwise, game effects are cumulative. For example, if Nurgle placed two Plague Touch Chaos Cards in the same region, each enemy figure would have their defense value reduced by two points (still to a minimum of one).

I hope this has answered your question. Happy gaming!

Hope that helps some.
