Only the cards? How much text is on them? How disturbing would it be to play a German edition?

Would I be able to play a German edition?

Which is better of this and Dungeon Petz?

Are both just as viable as agrivreboralus? It seems like everyone may already have those

I want agricola and caylus though.

There are cards which describe traps, and there are event cards. Both have, well, a card's worth of text; you could play without the event cards, but the traps are really necessary. The rest of the game uses icons that aren't language-dependent, though.

Yeah, I saw three different kinds of cards later. Those and then the season cards.

How many are there in total? Is it just those 10 or so cards / type?

I still don't know whatever I would had liked to play it in German though. cosimshop sell it at 27 euro, amazon at 38 or something such, price in Sweden 475 SEK = 54 euro.

So half price in Germany but you'd have to fix the text yourself. One can put notes on them or whatever of course but it's ugly =P

Is Dungeon Petz completely language independent?

We need more icons on components and text in manuals. Sure it may suck for beginners but icons is intuitive once you know them and especially it works for everyone since you can more or less always get the manual anyway.

The only thing in Dungeon Petz that is language dependent is the rulebook. Everything else work on the symbology on the board, cards and tiles.

If you don't use Arabic numerals I suppose you could trip over the payout on the pet wheels, but that's not usually an issue.

Since there are only 9 types of traps and 9 event cards, I imagine it'd be quite easy to translate both on a reference sheet and give one to each player (or just do the traps if that's easier).

Between this and Dungeon Petz, I like this one more (it's currently my favorite game), but they're both good games and fun. I could play this one all the time, whereas I feel like DP is one I'd only want to play about once a month. I imagine that's largely a matter of taste, and the learning curve is definitely steeper for Dungeon Lords.

I've looked at the review now and I don't know. Both games are cute but neither seem to have that many selections. In dungeon petz you get your colored cards and that's what you have to play, in dungeon lords you had the same matching of cards. I don't know how useful the other choices are?

I was thinking about getting puerto rico anniversary edition because it was cheap in Germany but don't seem that fun (shipping part may make it somewhat better but whatever) and as you know I already got RFTG. Some people played Kingsburg at the university yesterday, seemed quite fun, personally I think Agricola would be more fun than puerto rico.

I had earlier added Burgundy due to discount in Germany alone but I don't know whatever that seemed so interesting either. Neither does Troyes imho. I think games like last night on earth or so seem more "fun."

But then I haven't played Dungeon Lords and I don't know how correct Tom Vasel is and at least DL is cheap in the German version (27 euro at cosimshop I think, playme.de doesn't have it.)

Dungeon Lords is not just about your 3 choices each season. You have lots of things to keep track of including what the others are doing and planning on doing. I think the nay-sayers are people that don't like bluffing and thinking about what others do. If all you like is planning, planning, planning without thinking of the others, then DL is not for you. It's definitely a try before you buy (unless you are a Chvatil fan, like me).

Although I must admit that it is a bit sadistic to watch your dungeon get destroyed by the horrible do-gooders.

Depends on how you see things.

I've pre-paid:
Ghost stories
Ghost stories: White moon
Ora et Labora
Cyclades: Hades
Tichu
Agricola: Farmers of the moor

... from playme.de.
I got the same price for the Agricola expansion as milan-spiele or whomever sold it. But I don't know whatever it's something I should have or not. I still haven't played Agricola and maybe it isn't that awesome. May be a stupid idea to get it but they had brought it home for me ..

Undecided on:
Last night on Earth (and Fury of dracula.)

They have and I'll likely order (or shouldn't I?):
Hive + expansions
Innovation (iello edition?)

I'm waiting for this to finish the order:
Glory to rome

Caylus isn't in German print yet.

They have Dungeon petz at home now for 33 euro. Guess they brought it home because I mentioned it. Not sure whatever it's something I should get or not.

From Sweden I want to get:
Dungeon Twister 2: Prison
Race for the galaxy: TGS + RvI
Summoner wars (what sets?)
Yinsh
Dvonn
+ sleeves

Only problem is the store who has Dvonn don't want to co-ship a used DT2, the other store lack Dvonn. I could try to see whatever the German store want to sell these titles to but they wouldn't be able to get Dvonn either.

Chaos in the old world is still something I think about.

Cosmic encounter is back for a decent price. But should I get it?
Earth reborn is always on the list due to the better price in Germany but I don't really get caught in the whole game. Same issue with the simplicity of LNOE and FoD I guess. LNOE seem better than FoD since I like that kind of issue was the opposite one.

That's about it I guess?

Well, whatever to get Black secret for Ghost stories while I'm already ordering or not. Whatever to get LNOE / FoD or not would be interesting to. Could possibly get Railways of the world if gamemaniacs (Sweden) decided to sell a mangled box again.

Tzaar?
DT-expansions?

I order slowly as you notice

Oh yeah, and playme held Puerto Rico: Anniversary edition (German) for me that's why I ordered from them. Undecided on that one. Seem like it could be more fun than Agricola though. But I think there's a little of the same with that and RFTG. But in roles maybe. Wouldn't be surprised if Puerto Rico is the better game really due to how interactive the shipping action becomes.

If you get Hive, the carbon version comes with the expansions. I made the mistake of thinking it was just a more expensive version and ordered the normal one.

I'm well aware of that but I think the original look better.

I still don't know whatever it's a game one should get though.

Tell me if you to want/need the expansions (regular hive 16 euro, ladybug 3.85, mosquito 4 = 23.75 or something in total against 19.95 or something for carbon = big deal..)
