Can a non active AFV join a moving platoon during the MPh? A14.23 says that a lone radioless AFV can form/join platoons with other radioless AFV once they are in the necessary adjacent hexes.

I don't see in the rules that they must be in adjacent hexes at the start of the MPh.

If it is possible to do so, should the active platoon stop and then all start together? According to D14.21 each platoon must Start/Stop/remain-in-Motion as a single entity.

D14.2 says the only time a platoon can be formed in during setup, at the start of MPh and when leaving a convoy. And D14.21 clearly states that each AFV in a platoon must be adjacent to another member of the platoon when it is formed.

It's very straight-forward. Perhaps you don't have the latest version of the platoon movement rules pages? I know they were amended relatively recently, in AOO I think.

Movement by one "stack" must be completed before another "stack" begins its movement phase.

So, no, you can't "add-on" a vehicle in the middle of the "stack"'s movement. You can drop off, just not add on.

You're right, I did not have the corrected rules.

Thanks.

14.23 says "Lone radioless AFV may form/join platoons [...] once they are in the necessary adjacent hexes".

14.2 and 14.21 says nothing about when a platoon is formed, at least in my rulebook.

I assume this rules have changed from what you say. Where can I find the new rules ? How "official" this "new rules" are ?

Salud !
Oscar.

The amended rules for Platoon movement were included in Armies Of Oblivion. MMP recently made them available as a PDF download..

You'd think you'd be able to pick up in the MPH.

The New AFV would just have not to have fired and have available MP to expend when the Platoon pulled up.

ex. Platoon used 10 MP prior to being adjacent to new AFV...New AFV will then use 10MP to join up...

Of course this would create problems in Platoons moving away before being fired upon!! Maybe this was in the 1st edition rules where a Platoon can't be fired upon until entering a new hex. That was a stupid rule and shame on those that abused it....I POUR WATER ON YOUR COUNTERS.
