Yes it does.
Also, just in case, you can also put duplicates of unique Sand Snakes into play while you're doing that.
Basically, if the event 'goes off', then you pull all of the cards with 'sand snake' on out of your deck, throw them onto the table, then laugh hysterically in your opponent's direction.

Yes indeed.
Actually, a lot of people do that as a way to win. Play Viper, flip Valar(or Wildfire), vomit sand snakes onto the board... then trigger Nest of Vipers and Obella for a one turn win.

What am I missing here? A Nest of Vipers only gives you renown for the duration of the phase it was played. So, if you kill Viper with a plot and flood the board with your Snakes, it is not going to do you any good to give them all renown during the Plot phase.

Yeah, you're quite right, my memory was poor.
Long story short, when your viper dies in the challenge phase, that's what you do. When he perishes in the plot phase, you just machine-gun vipers onto the table and wait for the challenge phase to roll around in the hope that one of your guys will get got then.

House Dayne Skirmisher really helps with Nest of Vipers - if your opponent isn't going to military you, you kill the skirmisher, draw a card, discard a card from your opponent's hand, and then get to use Nest of Vipers!
