OK, the 6 Nations is about to kick off this weekend and here's my predictions as to how the first games are gonna go:
England Vs Scotland England have been much maligned and talked down of late but personally I think the situation in the England camp has been blown out of all proportions. They're always going to be tough to beat. Having said that, I think this new team of mostly inexperienced players might well come a cropper in Scotland on Saturday. I don't think they'll be easy to beat but I think the Scots will do it. That result would certainly be a good morale boost for the Scottish camp!
France Vs Italy Italy did amazingly well to beat France last year but I can't see them beating Les Bleus at home. I suspect Italy will lose but I'm interested to see how they perform with their new coach.
Wales Vs Ireland Being Welsh myself I was feeling really positive about this game. I know the Irish league teams are doing really well at the moment but I just had a funny feeling we'd beat them again at the international level. That was before half the Welsh team picked up injuries, ruling them out of the game. I'm still feeling optimistic but it was already going to be a fairly big ask and the injury situation has just made it more difficult. Still, I don't want to sit on the fence, I'm going to say Wales to edge it.
Whatever happens, I'm really looking forward to the weekend!

O flower of Scotland
When will we see your like again That fought and died for Your wee bit hill and glen And stood against him Proud Edward's army And sent him homeward Tae think again
The hills are bare now And autumn leaves lie thick and still O'er land that is lost now Which those so dearly held And stood against him Proud Edward's army And sent him homeward Tae think again
Those days are passed now And in the past they must remain But we can still rise now And be the nation again That stood against him Proud Edward's army And sent him homeward Tae think again
GO SCOTLAND!!!

I would love to see Scotland take the Calcutta cup!
But England, don't rule them out. They started to play attractive rugby again and you can tell they are enjoying themselves.
France will beat Italy, no question what. Just look at how they performed in the RWC final. Plus they don't want to loose from Italy again.
Wales - Ireland is though to call. I would put my money on Wales though. Yes, lots of injured, but so is O'Driscoll
Looking forward to the weekend!

I can't want to get out of here at work.
The DVR is set. I have some Innis & Gunn and some Belhaven ready at home, I have on my favorite Scotland Rugby shirt. I'm ready to cheer on the lads.
And I'll pour a pint in hopes for Wales to do well too.

Wish BBC America would play them all. God forbid they play a couple less Top Gear re-runs.

Wales and England deserved their wins I thought. It'll be a good match up this year.
Wales need to find someone who can kick straight (I don't really follow them but against Ireland their kicking was appalling), England are missing Flood. Still, they looked solid in defense and there were a couple of moments where they looked dangerous going forwards. Scotland didn't look dangerous except for one or two moments when Gray had the ball- no ideas or creativity going on and they only ever looked like scoring penalties.

I don't know how much of Priestland's kicking success (or rather lack of it) was due to carrying an injury or the reduction in confidence because of that. In the past he has been alright. If Wales get their lineout working I can see them asking some questions of England and France.
As for Scotland. It is the same old story (unfortunately). They look dangerous until they get to the opponents 22.

Wow, what a game Ireland Vs Wales turned out to be! I thought Wales deserved to win it more comfortabley than they did but man it was exciting! Both teams played very well.
I was fully expecting Scotland Vs England to be a rip roaring game - what a mistake that was! Very dull. I was rooting for Scotland (nothing against England, I just thought the Scots could do with a win) but watching them play was an exercise in frustration.
France Vs Italy went as expected. Italy played quite well. I'm interested to see how they do against England at home.
