Hi,
I usually upload quick references for several games in spanish. I don’t do it for the geekgold but to help gamers. But it doesn’t mean I think my work shouldn’t be appreciated. 12 of my files were just approved. The first 5 were awarded with 2 GG. The other 7 received 0GG.
I usually don’t get involved in talks about how much or little is a reward but 0 GG is a joke. The time I spend in every written quick reference and video is a lot and I think it deserves at least and expression of that and sadly in the case of BGG that comes in the shape of GG. In fact each file with 1 GG could have been usual (sometimes is 1, 2, 3, 4... ) and I would have received almost the same in total (12 instead of 10) but at least every file would have been appreciated.
Just a thought...

I find Ketty quite right .... The summaries are excellent!! It seems very unfair that at least recognize the contribution to the community by giving a few GG.
Te encuentro toda la razón Ketty .... Los resúmenes son excelentes!!!! Me parece muy injusto que al menos te reconozcan el aporte a la comunidad dándote unos pocos GG.

Agreed!!
At least 1GG per file..
But if there is nothing written regarding rewards and its values, must we upload files one at a time? Or should we simply upload files knowing we are not getting anything?

i totally agree with K.
these videos are a very very precious resource for the gaming community that understands spanish, this means not only spanish or south americans then but also ppl who learned spanish because it is a lovely language. Take "Hansa Teutonica": JcK's explanation is wonderful, exact, thorough and invaluable when it comes the time for a fast refresh of the rules.
Therefore, at least SOME acknowledgement and gratitude would be great.

My guess is its because they were uploaded together and reviewed by the same person/people, who didn't want to award too much GG at one time. I doubt the individual awards were deemed a valuation on each particular upload, but perhaps the total was seen as a valuation for the lot? Perhaps the person/people was afraid you were breaking up your uploads in separate files purposefully?
Not saying its right - just trying to figure out the source of the issue. I recommend waiting a day or two between each upload.

Is the grateful community unable to tip her?

Ketty makes an EXCELLENT work, she dedicate a lot of her private time to do the videos and the quick references. A lot of Board Games Fans use and enjoy her work so, please I totally agree that 0GG is not a good reward for her amazing work. Dont give up Ketty we love your excellent work, thanks very much for it.

Thanks everyone!
But to be clear, I'm not asking for GG. It just bothers me that whoever approved my files thought so little of them that didn’t even give them the appreciation I think they deserve...

Sometimes it seems some of the admins get a little power happy.
I once made two player aids for a game: one a small one with just a few of the harder to remember pieces of information and and a bigger one with the complete gameplay flow and lots of details on how things work.
No one would ever play with both but when I uploaded them as separate files, they were rejected and I was told to combine them into one file.
I explained that it doesn't make sense as people are either going to play with the simple one (which is for people that know how to play but just need a few quick reference charts) or the more detailed one when they are learning the game. There is no reason to play with both since all the info on the little one was also on the big one so it doesn't make sense to make people download both whether they wanted both or not.
I also pointed out that the only reason this even came up is that I uploaded them at the same time. If I had just done one, waited for it to be approved and then submitted the second one, no one would have thought twice that there were two separate files since they were so different.
I said I didn't care about the geekgold and it was not attempt to farm gold and if they wanted to give me 0 gg for one, that was fine with me.
But it appeared that once the decision was made, that was it. No matter how little sense it made, the admin insisted I combine them into one file and ignored all requests for an explanation.
I never did. I submitted them to BGG, they were rejected and that was that as far as I was concerned. I am not going to jump through hoops that don't make sense (especially since I was never given an explanation as to why that would be better) to provide BGG with content.
What I find bad about what happened to the OP is that she was effectively told her contribution to the site is literally worthless. For a site that is pretty much entirely made up of user contributed content, that seems awfully shortsighted.

0 GG is not a joke. It's an insult.
You should mail Octavian about it. See what he has to say. Files are heavily underrated in BGG, and yours especially are a great resource. Thank you.

I certainly agree that the GG reward for files are extremely poor compared to the virtual mountain of GG you get for images. I can spend hours and hours of my spare time on a player aid and get a couple geek gold, or spend 15 minutes snapping some shots of components and get more!
But, as I've said before, I do it to help the community and for my own games to play so any rewards are a nice bonus. And I've had some user tips that were extremely generous!
Maybe someday they will revamp the file reward system to be more in line with other rewards. Reviews can take a ton of time to put together too, especially video reviews and they don't get much reward either. I think the main thing is image rewards are too easy. We've seen image galleries flooded with pretty much the same images over and over with no real good way to police them.

Sorry, it appears that there was a mix up with the file approval process/interface.
I have hopefully fixed the GG issue with ArtEmiSa64 privately, and I hope that I have fixed the system going forward.
If there are any other issues with file submissions and approvals, please contact me.
Thanks Dale

Files and Reviews should get at least 2 GG if aproved, because they take pretty more effort than taking a picture.
I had enough gg, but still uploading for contribution and fun.
