I have had a few requests for the graphic files for Outlaws so people can make and share their own boards. Here is a link to two Photoshop files (.psd) which can be used to create custom boards. The files are quite large (16 & 23 meg) – one has a basic board and the other all the graphic elements needed to create a board.

Thanks for sharing these. I'm eager to see what the BGG community puts together. I might even have a go myself, if I can find the time.

A couple of other things you might want to upload (or post links to):
1) The font you used (I believe it is called "akaPosse"). 2) The "crosshair grid" in it's own layer, so that we can superimpose it over buildings and such.

Hi Dave,
Thanks so much for posting these. The base board file has no layering in it, correct? I thought the crosses might be a separate layer.
Paint shop gives an error message when attempting to open the Outlaw graphics file, the base board file is no problem. I can't wait to take a look at the graphics file, (when I can open it!) Can you repost the Graphics file, or, is there a different problem?
Thanks again for posting these, David

Good morning gents - thanks for the kind words.
I have uploaded a new base board with the layers separated - pretty big file though - 53 meg.
David - I am sorry I do not know much about paint shop - I am using Photoshop CS5 (a gift from a graphic designer I know). I am guessing the problem is with the layers - not sure what to suggest, maybe ask around on the paint shop forums and let me know if you need a different format...
I have also added a jpeg of the elements so you can see what they include - I have lots of other stuff for the game so please post any requests and i will try to help out.
Regards

Hi Dave,
I still get an error message with the .PSD files. I am using a very old version of this program, Paint Shop Pro 7.04 I have recently purchased some card model .PSD files, they have many layers, (20 or more), and they open up for me with no problem. These files are over 100 megs in size, and since they are being sold commercially, I assume they are being created with the most recent version of Photo Shop. Paint Shop Pro can open a variety of files including Photo Shop files. I don't know why I get an error message with your files, as I have no problem with the ones that I have purchased. I guess it is not to be.
Thanks for your help, David

Thanks for the layered grid.
FYI, I've tried several times to load the JPG, but it's not working.

I have Photoshop CS (not CS5). When I try to open the file "Outlaws Graphics.psd", I get an alert that says "This file uses an unsupported blending mode. Substitute normal mode?" Then I can click one of three buttons: "OK", "Cancel" or "Read Composite Data". That last button loads the file as a flat (non-layered) image. Seems to load just fine if I click "OK".
I'm not expecting to get full file compatability using such an old version of Photoshop. I'm just posting this to give David a hint about why PSP might not be opening the file properly for him.

Hi Herman,
Thanks for sharing your experience. I have been able to open the PSD files with XnView. The different layers can be exported as seperate files. These exported files I am able to open as long as I pick a file format other than PSD.
I can't imagine why the .JPG file is not working though, it opened fine for me.

Update: I managed to download the JPG. It was just refusing to preview on the MediaFire web page.
