Is the entire length of a hallway considered a single area for the purposes of movement? Or is it sub-divided by the lines?

Thanks

It's subdivided by the thin black lines.

Do the thin black lines divide weapon effects such as the fuel or is the whole hallway affected by its use?

Area effect weapons ignore thin black lines and effect entire hallway (until it hits a heavy black line -- the hatch there seals off the effect from a different hallway).

Read the rules carefully, it's explained there once you get your head around the vocabulary.

The black lines denote separate areas for movement, and for those weapons that effect everyone in "an area", like the Comm Beamer. The heavy black lines are walls and they block line-of-sight and stop the effects of Gas Grenades and Rocket Fuel. Read the individual weapons descriptions for how each weapon is affected by "area" and "hatches", as each is different.
