Hi,

The rules in the Pressman Rummikub box I have are mostly clear, but there's one part that I find somewhat ambiguous.

They basically say that if you can't play a set or a run, you draw a tile. But does that mean:

A) You only draw a tile if you couldn't play at least one set or run on the turn. So your turn is either play one or more sets or runs, or draw a tile, but not both.

or

B) You draw a tile when you're finished playing sets and runs on a turn. That is, except for the last turn in which you play all of your tiles, you'll draw a tile at the end of every turn, optionally playing one or more sets or runs beforehand.

Thanks in advance!

not sure about your set, but our rules are fairly clear that you draw a tile when you can't play. so its option A

booned,
You draw a tile from the well, if you cannot at least play one of your tiles from your rack. You dont need to create a completly new set or run .... you can just add one of your tiles to any existing set or run that is already on the table, and this is enough so that you dont have to draw a tile from the well.

Does that answer your question ?

I'm somewhat confused. It's just that you used the phrase a number of times (and you have worded your statements) that read "if you cant play a set or run."
So I'm not sure if you are possibly playing incorrectly, in that you believe that one must play a completly new set or run each time you put down tiles on the table.
Or are you using this phrase to actually mean "if you cant play onto a set or run."

Yes, thanks, that's two in favour of option A.

Yup, I got that part. Play a set or run, or add to a set or run. Thanks though!
