I've just completed the first 10 turns and reached the first settlement phase. Now the B stage phase in only 5 turns away, but has a 2 in a spinny arrow next to it, does this mean that i'll have 15 rounds before the nasty dummy player nicks all my buildings?

There are 6 rounds between B and C in the solo game. You should be using the letters with the solo player marker.

Just make sure the nasty dummy player has his prior free every settlement phase. Then you can get a bonus action on one of his newly built buildings. Squeezing every bonus action you can is one of the keys to this game.
