Hi we played today and had a great time. During setup on the 5th round when you put out the 1 disguise card do you also put out the regular skills cards along with it?

No, just one disguise.

*edit*
See page 6, in a small box on the left:

The Teachings

During rounds 1-4, there are skills available from the sensei equal to the number of players.

During rounds 5-7, the sensei only teaches one skill - the Hensojutsu (Disguise) skill - to a single student.
(emphasis mine)

Then would the first player who goes there be technically be able to get all three disguises since they would be the first player to go every turn unless someone goes there without getting anything

This is a very confusing question... It's hard to tell what you mean, but taking a stab at it:

The first player to go in turn 5 could take the disguise skill. The first player to go in turn 6 could also take the disguise skill. They're not likely to be the same person unless the person who went first in turn 5 was also the last person to visit the Dojo. Since they will play their third shuriken before anybody else does, someone else could always play after them at the Dojo if they wanted to badly enough.

On turn 5 and going forward the second person to go to the dojo is not going to get any skill and the only benefit is changing turn order. This is why we played 1 disguise and also the skills. So when changing the turn order that second person still got a skill and changed the turn order. Playing with only the disguise skill by itself seemed like it cost too much to change the turn order.

I think you are conflating the sensei and the dojo. They're two different locations.

Well, for one thing, if you have 4 players, you'll run out of skills if you include regular skills with disguises. There are only enough regular skills for the first 4 rounds.

Second, it sounds like you're using the sensei area to determine turn order. That is incorrect. Turn order is determined at the Dojo, which is where you obtain dojo cards with numbers on them used for fighting house.

*edit* I totally got ninja'd.

Dope you are right that makes a whole lot more sense, and solves the problem. This was our first play so oh well, everyone still had a great time. Thanks for the help!
