I'm looking into buying a zombie game but do not know which to choose from. I'm wondering which one evokes the zombie theme better and which one has better gameplay. If there are better games than these 2 please do tell!

Just from looks I'd go for last night on earth, but I'm wary about the "DM" role who controls the zombies...idk if my friends would ever want to play the antagonist who everyone is gaining up on.

This has been discussed many times here in the forums. I think the conclusion has always been that you only want to play Zombies! while you are heavily drunk or under the influence of something that rational thinking is not anymore possible.

You're not playing Dungeons and Dragons. The player(s) controlling the zombies is not a "DM." No one "gangs up" on the zombie player as the zombie player usually has more pieces on the board than the heroes. Its actually "fun" playing the zombies.

Last Night on Earth is the way to go.

For evoking the zombie theme and better gameplay, LNOE is way better than Zombies! You can have fun with Zombies! but don't expect a lot from it. LNOE gives you a sense of danger and feels intense playing as a hero, while playing the z's gives you a chance to thrill your friends.

I can see one's point about feeling the odd man out playing the zombies, while the hero players get to work and bond together. There is an option for 2 zombie players, though personally, I would prefer to play the zombies alone. I usually do play the zombies, but other willing players will switch with me at times to give me a change. A rotating system is an option, though I would only allow willing players to play the zombies, an uncomfortable zombie player would play a lousy game.

The zombie player has to want to win and enjoy doing it devil, but at the same time it doesn't bother me to lose my zombies to the heroes. I throw everything I can at the heroes, and if the heroes pull thru I can look back amusingly amazed.

I have a friend of mine who loves to play the zombies. The last game we ran was the "Escape in the truck" scenario and he won.

His zombies pretty much had the girl with the keys surrounded. The truck had already been gassed up though.
