What happens if a minion reaches the Town center, does an elder die? or does the turn simply ends?

Nothing happens. However, if another minion would move to Town Hall, it bumps out the minion there and the Shadow Track moves one closer to Darkness. Especially with the Necromancer, you can have a whole congaline of Walking Dead bouncing each other for several ticks on the Shadow Track.

A bit of a related question, who of the elders join the bad guy for the final showdown, all the evil elders, the dead evil elders or only if you bring a elder with you in you hunting party that turns out to be evil?

All Evil Elders that are known and any that you call to the Hunting Party that turn out to be Evil.
