I’ve Got to Get to the... states that the "Hero may not search." Does it affect character's abilities like the sheriff's Man of Action or Goddard's Repair? The keyword there is "Instead of" but it isn't clear enough for me, and my group has different interpretations.

Another question is about the Random Building. I’ve Got to Get to the... states that "If the Hero is already in the building or cannot enter it, Re-roll."
What happens if I play I’ve Got to Get to the... and i rolled a building that is already Taken Over?
a) Re-roll a new building within the same L-section?
b) Re-roll a new L-section?

If they must "instead of a search" so they can't because search would be an illegal move... however we have Stacy which may draw a card by the end of her move if she is in a spawn pit... no instead no search related all cool she may have her card.

If it was taken over re-roll only for the building in the same L-shaped section if no building in the section is available as a target them you roll for L-Section again.

What happens if you roll "I've got to get to the.." and THEN you get "My God They've taken the..." and that roll ends up being the same building as you rolled for the hero?

Then you reroll the "My God" building.
