Hi,

So I am trying to get a Blood Bowl night together that is different than our traditional league games.

We used to have, and will be starting up again soon, a Blood Bowl league with a number of people in the game club in town. I ran a game night a couple of years ago where players had 2 million to spend in any way they chose to build a team. It was pretty cool and it was fun to experiment playing a team that would never be possible to build in a normal league.

So here's my next idea: Blood Bowl meets sports draft.

Using teams from our previous seasons, including long retired teams, we would draft a team that we would play. Much like sports drafts, we would have a inverse-snake order of picking teams (eg. 1 through 7 picks first then 7 through 1) and a salary cap. I am thinking 2 million, with re-rolls being priced at 60k each.

I have selected 14 old teams for about 6 players and I would increase it by 2 teams for every new player. I will them a hard copy of the rosters a week before we sit down at the table to get some idea of what they want to do. I will then randomly assign the draft order.

They would have to keep track themselves of who is chosen, the player they picked and the running total of their team value. I envisioned about 15 seconds after the previous players pick to get organized and 15 seconds to pick their player (or 30 between picks). They would have a 1-one minute time out to use if needed. Once the player has hit their cap or they don't want to pick anymore, they are done. We would then write out our rosters in good form.

After this, we meet the next week at my house for a couple of games of Blood Bowl. We wouldn't worry about SPP because they are only playing 2 games.

When selecting the teams we would choose from, I tried to ensure I had a good mix of rosters and values of players. I don't want to have too many expensive players available and not have enough players available to choose from at each price point.

I am still wrestling with 2 million---including 3 re-rolls or making them buy their re rolls with the cap in place.

Anyway, that's what I have hashed out so far. Thoughts?
