A question came up while playing MKD again last night.
Attacks cost 4 movement points. But a magespawn only had 3 movement points. It was already in base contact with a hero, so no need to move.
We ruled that it could not attack, but it feels wrong to me, because what would be the point of having an attack value of 5 and a speed of 3? it would never be allowed to attack in that condition, but it is not yet demoralized.

Thoughts?
Thanks!

Which figure is it? Does it have any special abilities? There is an ability (Charge, I believe, and perhaps another one) that allows a figure to attack for less movement points than normal. I'm guessing the figure was damaged (if not demoralized), as that's a very low movement value for any figure.

All that aside, if the movement value is indeed 3 with no abilities allowing a cheaper attack, then you are right, it could not attack. However, the figure would still be able to counterattack if something else attacks it.

But without knowing the figure and the stats it's hard to say for sure.

I can't think of the specific figure(s) offhand, but I do recall running across a few that did drop below 4 without gaining any movement abilities or being demoralized.

I'm pretty sure they're from a non-Dungeons set, like Rebellion or one of the other standard MK sets.

Like you said they could only counterattack at that point, or they could try to run away.

I just took a quick look through the Miscellaneous MS Reference Sheet:

The ** and *** Skeletons and all three Crypt Worm versions have clicks where they drop to 2 without being demoralized.

There wasn't anything that had a 3 in that batch, but that doesn't mean there aren't some out there. There are probably a bunch of non-MS figures where it happens.

You´re right, it´s a MK figure, i just took it for a magespawn cause its a zombie. Its from the necro´s faction. "Marsh Zombie". On its fourth click of damage it goes to three movement points.
Thanks for the answer!
