I want to share with you the following experience:
Last year I was able to collect every M44 item released up to December 2011 but the bag (which I think was way overpriced for what it is)
My dear brother little (14) and I enjoyed the system so much that I thought this game was going to see the table very often, so I started to spend my money and time to get all those oop expansions from different countries as quickly as I could. The excuse for investing in this game at such a fast rate was that I knew there were no plans to reprint some of them, and I wanted to have a complete collection
On January 7th one of my closest friends brought a copy of CC:'Pacific from the states and gave it to me as a christmas gift, my brother and I gave it a try without much success due to the relatively complex mechanics. I thought I was not going to be able to play against him competitively, so the game went back to the shelf and we kept playing M44.
One and a half week later I decided to study the rulebook and play against one of my old school friends. We set the game, studied the rules carefully and got everything right after 2 hours of gameplay. We were impressed by how good this game was and the way it tells a story while you play. Then I got back home, and as excited as I was, could not wait any longer to teach my brother... from then on, everything started to go down for Memoir
After that day, little only wants to play CC and M44 is sitting on the shelf, most of the expansions without a single play, campaigns books closed, breakthrough maps folded. I still like M44 a lot but I don't have any opponents anymore (because most of my friends are not into wargames, ww2, or gaming at all) and I don't want to get rid of my collection, it was too hard to get and it's too heavy and expensive to sell it in my country or somewhere else.
I know I can play M44 online, I've done that, but it's just not the same. I also know I can get rid of CC:'P , but that would break 's heart.
Is there something else that can be done to renew someone's interest in this game? If something like this has happened to any of you, please share a solution.
Thank you all in advance!

Sorry, the only thing that can be done now is for you to send me all the expansions, and I will make a new home for them.
Seriously though, I wish you the best. My best friend and I actually purposely stray from taking up certain games so we do not obsolete others we enjoy.
Maybe after some time off the love shall return for Mem'44.

I've done that supersquirrel, it's a good idea, but I like the game better on cardboard.

I wouldn't worry about it. The CC system replaced M44 for me, too. It's just a better system.
Not to say there's anything wrong with M44. I still enjoy playing it with newcomers to this kind of gaming.
My advice? Enjoy the ride that is CC!

Paint the pieces.
If you have the time and patience, replace the infantry figures with 1/72nd scale miniatures from other manufacturers, then paint them as well.
I still enjoy playing Memoir with the painted figures because it just looks so darn good.

WTF is CC? Code word for what? I could probably figure it out, but using initial-isms annoys the crap out of me.

I think the game he is talking about is Combat Commander: Pacific.

Combat Commander: Pacific I believe. It's a GMT game. If you don't do a lot of war gaming it may not be on your radar. Check it out.

I would have thought the answer is to ask mum and dad to provide you with another little brother.

I've gone much further and purchased many third party armor, artillery and soft skin vehicles.
Painting them and using them has brought much enjoyment to the game,
I suppose they could also be used for other WWII games.

Play solo memoir. Play both sides for the win. Really fun and you can try out all your expansions.

I enjoy Conflict of Heroes more than M44 nowadays. But if you are looking to revive interest in M44 three suggestions I can think of:
1) Find some buddies and play Overlord. It is a blast! Make M44 your social game
2) Run a tournament. Lots of work but gets the competitive juices flowing.
3) Make M44 your de fact0 speed gaming game. You'll have to streamline the set up somehow, but I am thinking less than 45mins to play = M44 and 45+ mins to play = your fav squad based system (Conflict of Heroes, Combat Commander, FF, etc.)
I still like M44, but I, like a lot of gamers at some point, just want more than it offers in terms of complexity/sophistication etc. That is why a lot of M44 players eventually find themselves looking elsewhere. I generally now only play M44 in the #1 and #2 formats above or online.
Good luck!

The next time you have an opportunnity to play a game, force yourself to bring M44 out. Talk your dear little brother into playing it. Use coercian, trash talk, insult his pathetic M44 generalship, whatever it takes. After you get a rise out of him, he might want to play just to put you down.
When one game supplants another it seems like the new love will go on forever and that old flame will never be seen again.
But sometimes just bringing that old flame out will rekindle interest. Of course she doesn't look so good on the shelf, she wasn't meant to be displayed like a book. So take her out, put her on the table, look at all her cool parts, and let her allure reel you back in.
