I have just started playing this great game and wanted to share my experiences with a sort of brief session report - review - terrain pictoral... uh, thing.
I made a BGG trade with stenmur (thanks stenmur!) for the Necromunda box set with terrain and goliath miniatures but for my chosen house, Delaque, I had to borrow from my buddy Nate who has the Base and expansion sets and a hive full of minis.
For terrain I built a Slime Farm(tm) on some foam board. For the farm buildings I used some molded packing that came with a rechargeable flashlight, for the rubble I used broken styrene and for the slime pools (and to glue everything down) I used spray adhesive (Lockweld 700A from Home Depot)
Click on the little + magnifying glass to zoom in on the pictures.
I sprayed it all gray then dry brushed some silver on the buildings and green on some slime pools. I also mounted some street scenes onto another foamboard sheet and set up our official terrain along with some extra bits.
---------------------------------------------
Now for the game!
For our first game we only used the street terrain. The next game we used both maps but sort of... er... forgot to take in-game pictures because we were so...into it! yes! that's the ticket!
Nate had a Van Saar gang against my Delaque. I decided not to name my gang or gang members until something they did in the game sparked a name idea out of me.
I fitted my gangers with lasguns, my Juves with laspistols, my leader with a plasma gun and my heavy with a lascannon- man that cannon is EXPENSIVE. I only took 9 gang members vs Nate's 12 to afford that weapon. We'll see if it's worth it!
I started out with a lasgun-toting ganger behind a barricade with a good channel to fire down the one-way street. Next to him 2 Juves nervously peered through some bulkheads wondering if their first firefight would be their last. The heavy set up his autocannon to fire between some buildings at anyone passing by. (had to borrow a few Orlocks to stand in as my Delaque Juves)
(Terrain notes) Nate made the barrels out of pvc fittings painted black and the 'lightpost' out of some computer parts. The black ridged buildings with cabling used to be lights.
A ganger stood ready to back up the heavy if he needed help. My leader on the left raised his red plasma gun onto his shoulder and pointed out a few enemies approaching under the bridge. Unseen 2 of my Juves hid behind some bulkheads, one of them climbing to the next platform.
The Van Saar began to spread out, working their way up the street behind cover.
In the center of the battlefield the plasma gun-wielding Van Saar leader and a few of his gangers began laying down accurate fire on my heavy so I sent my Juve and ganger to help.
Unfortunately after this photo my heavy went down and out without ever firing a shot from that overpriced paperweight of a lascannon. The ganger and Juve were pinned as well. Over on the right the two Juves bravely rushed in to pistol range. Go get 'em Fritz! There's my first name - Fritz!
(Terrain Notes) The black column rising through the center of platforms (on the left above blurry Fritz) was made by painting a milk bottle black and sliding it in upside down. High tech eh? The rightmost Van Saar forces moved up and took out a Juve and pinned Fritz SEVERAL times but the Ganger by the barricade suppressed them the entire battle.
Say, why does he have a white belt on? Belt on. Belton! I have another name. Belton!
(Terrain Notes)The fence to the left of Belton was made by Nate with some nails as posts and some screen out of an old window. Behind the Van Saar you can just see the barbed wire atop another fence made from twisted scrap wire.
Meanwhile, over on the left side of the battlefield my leader took out one of the Van Saar approaching from a narrow dark alley under the platforms. Over the corpse stepped a dark figure wielding a cruel blade. Laughing maniacally he just stood there while my plasma bolts whizzed by.
Just stood there, dark and menacing.
No pictures exist of what happened next, and you wouldn't care to see them if they were, trust me. (shudders) The Van Saar assassin Hawat raced down the alley weaving between bulkheads and began slicing my gangers to ribbons. He finally fell but my gang was down to 5. Maybe I should bottle out and save whats left of my gang.
But wait! Up on the high tower one of my Juves leapt out of cover and began downing enemies like mad!
Yeah! get 'em from your high tower. Hightower! Another name.
Ah no! They downed Hightower on the next barrage and I bottled out. The Juve with Fritz died from his wounds later and the ganger the assassin sliced up was in so many pieces we could only bring back his goggles.
We struggled back to our turf and worked our territories for cash and supplies. Everyone rested up, practiced and prepared to get revenge on those Van Saar slime.
Hightower ended up learning how to shoot twice as fast as any other ganger. Fritz decided he enjoys getting close & personal with his foes so turned in his knife for a sword. Belton became much tougher and wiser due to his ordeals and may be setting his sights on replacing the leader if he doesn't perform better next battle.
----------------------------------------------------
I am amazed they aren't still selling this game. Miniatures wargame. Solid sensible rules. Buckets of theme. RPG-like character advancement. After the battle when I roll on the serious injury chart I'm actually, real-world NERVOUS that one of my named gangers is going to die. "Ganger 2 died? oh, phew! (sigh of relief) as long as it wasn't Fritz."
I ordered 2 sets of Dulaque gangers and have dusted off my painting equipment.
I can't wait till the next battle!

Looks like you guys are having fun. Like the looks of those fences, well done.

Good description and nice scenery and photographs -- I particularly liked the second pic, which seems to show (top right) various other game-type stuff spilling from shelves, rather like my "system"

edit to say I liked the home-made scenery too

HA! Yeah, my dining room is my gaming room with 4 bookshelves overflowing. My basement is my gaming room too... and my living room. And the bedrooms sometimes.
I leave the kitchen and bathroom alone though.
Oops, just realized I store miniatures terrain on top of the fridge and have Game magazines in the bathroom so nowhere is free from games!

Nice report!
And yes, it is amazing they arent' still selling it. The game is awesome. So is Mordheim (it's Fantasy equivelent).
Maybe they'll give it the stupid-expensive one-off treatment.

What is that street-looking decal/terrain on the ground? Is that painted or a mat?
