I'm not sure I can think of another game that has had more pimping love then War of the Ring. Mount Dooms, strongholds, model two towers, pieces for towns and strongholds, hunt tile bags, painting figures, modding figures, adding alternate figs for upgraded Aragorns and Gandalf the Whites, Eye of Sauron pieces, one ring replicas...etc.

I for one am a talentless individual who generally looks on in envy at the homemade creations out there.

I just got the 2nd edition of this game and have already started watching for news about new expansions. Correct me if I'm wrong but it sounds like there won't be a rerelease of the same expansion as the 1st edition had but that many of those minis, mechanics, etc will find there way into new and multiple expansions.

If that is the case...I think it would be cool if Ares included some nice (though nonessential) extras in its future expansions. (much like Pandemic: On the Brink brought petri dishes which have no actual game play influence but thematically just make things more fun). So maybe expansion 1 gets a nice drawstring hunt tile bag. And expansion two gets an extra fig for Gandalf the White and Aragorn. And expansion three gets some other little extra.

I know I'd be a fan. just throwing it out there though as I'm sure I'll be getting any expansion they make for this game regardless of the contents. (War of the Ring: The Catapult anyone?)

Yes, the besieging player places the catapult in the region with the besieged stronghold and fires his besieging army units at the besieged units in the stronghold box. All units who fall over are eliminated.

A dexterity based siege system, how elegant!
