While it may be better to post this in the appropriate DungeonQuest forum, I wasn't sure if anyone would view it (seeing as how the game has been out for awhile).

Basically, I just had a quick rules question my friend and I were unsure of when we played the game for the first time the other night.

The rules state that when moving into an explored space (meaning a tile has already been played) you 'encounter a chamber', thus doing whatever action is listed in the rulebook for that particular type of chamber.

However, when moving into an unexplored space the rules (on pg. 8) only say that the Hero 'must randomly draw a Dungeon chamber from the stockpile and place it faceup in the space.' They don't mention anything else at all about what to do. Does this mean that we are to also encounter the space, or do nothing at all? I assume we are to encounter the space as well but am unsure.

Thanks guys!

Anyone who is qualified to answer would probably be subscribed to the DungeonQuest rules forum - it's there for a reason.

You assume correctly. Immediately after placing the tile, you move your figure in and have the encounter.

Not only that, but anyone else who visits that forum in the future will see this question and the answer, potentially saving them the trouble of asking it themselves.

Well, if the thread had a useful title that gave a clue what the question was about, then yes, it would work that way. See here:

Campaign to make the rules folders more useful (85 games adopted, 555 changes documented)

Note to the O.P.: I've already clicked the red X to notify the admins this is in the wrong folder. After they move it (I think it's a good bet they will), you can earn geek gold by changing the thread title to something better, and posting a note to that effect in this thread:

Re: DungeonQuest Question
Thanks for the help guys! And sorry for the incorrect categorization. I'll be sure to edit the title with something a bit more informative.
