Just want to double-check this...

As long as none of the players have a Helper w/ a lantern (or if they declare they aren't going to use them) and you trust everyone to play honestly - there's no reason why you can't take your turns at the same time, is that correct?

In a 4 player game you get partnered up with another player. Each pair then go about their turns simultaneously. Your partner watches you do your turn and then you watch your partner.

That's how I was taught the game but I'm not a fan of this.

Mostly. Someone can buy a 2-pack which ends up including a helper with a lantern. Generally I let the start player play until he or she has bought a 2-pack and then I let his or her partner start.

Good point on the 2-pack possibility, I hadn't thought of that.
