I saw the (relatively) new VASSAL module based on the Valley Games edition and am eager to give it a try. I was wondering if anyone has played Hannibal PBEM with VASSAL. If so, how do battles work. Seems like it would be a slow back and forth.

I'm currently playing my second game via VASSAL. It works great except for the bigger battles. My opponent and I setup a time and we play the battles via phone. Skype might also work. The attacker creates a file, takes the battle cards, and sends the file to the other person and they take their battle cards. Each person opens the file, communicates via phone, and plays cards and rolls for initiative. My opponent and I are in the same time zone, so it works well. Might not be as efficient if someone is very distant from your location.

Al the card play is done through their server so their is no need to load vassal and play a card back and forth etc etc
