Using words from AWOL definition, from my wargaming perspective, I cannot tell the difference from AWOL, Historical Context, and General. For example, Military Bookshelf of the Month remains General but discussion on a wargame movie goes to AWOL. Depending on you look at it both should be in Historical Context. I don't get it.
Now I am missing alot of the interesting topics I found best in the wargame Forum because I can only get the "General" topics on the Front Page "Subdomain Forum" panel.
So....how do I get all Wargame "forum" topics (General, AWOL, Historical Context) come out on my Front Page "Subdomain Forum" panel?
Thanks,
Pete S.

You don't. And if you dare imply that that's a bad thing you get attacked.

The new UI (now in beta test) will let you see everything.
The general forum is board game and BGG related. Historical context is where news and non-game discussions of interest to wargamers goes. AWOL is social.

AWOL is a 'misnomer', so when can we expect something more 'appropriate' to denote such?

So something like Military History Bookshelf for February, 2012 should really be in Historical Context as opposed to General?
Just saying...

This sounds good. Thanks!
Sorry about flogging the dead horse. I didn't know this topic was beaten into submission. I'm guessing there was a debate about introducing subforums in the first place, that I missed. Woe to me, I always seem to be (a big) behind.
In my experience wargamers didn't stray from war, war games, history topics much for the need of sub catagories, but the new UI is cool and I won;t care if there are sub catagories.

Fill free to keep flogging Peter!

From what I've heard, it doesn't sound like the new UI will be ready this year, so we'll be living with this awhile...

So we are still going to miss accidental visits, which is unfortunate.

It's not my post, but based on the forum descriptions provided, it seems more appropriate for Historical.
