1. Trading:
1.1 True or false:
If you receive a provisioncard by trading, you need to place it open on the table, and not hidden in your hand.
1.2 If 2.1 is false: does the traded card have to be known to everybody on the boat (for example if you are sitting next to the person you are trading with)?

2. Provisioncards:
2.1:
The rules states 'if the bucket of chum is played (or was face up in front of the overboard character)…'. But how can a bucket of chum be open on the table?

3 Expansions:
3.1 True or false: If Dr. Harter uses the medical kit, he needs to play the card (face up). If he goes overboard, the card is lost.

Looking forward to play this game
Thanks in advance,
Jelle

All three questions basically have the same answer. You can turn a card face up (almost) any time you want. If you trade a face down card, it stays face down. You can only actually use a card if it's face up, so most of them time you will only turn a card face up right before you use it for the first time.

Single use items, like the bucket of chum, will usually stay face down until the last possible moment, but you might turn it face up even before you need to use it, maybe to prove you have it, maybe to keep the Kid from stealing it.
