Sorry if this is covered elsewhere, and I also realize it's from one of the expansions, but I consider my collection one big game now.

Can a monster stop on the Soul, attack a hero, then move off?
Shadow Soul says a monster cannot end its movement on the Shadow Soul, so we played that it was allowed (as SS is a token, not a figure.)
Did we play this correctly?...

Sounds right, kind of like an activated glyph. A monster can stand on a glyph, attack and move off in the same turn and that's legal, so don't see why the same would not be for the Shadow Soul?

You didn't "end your move" there, if you later moved away, so that's not a problem. And attacking in the middle of a move isn't usually a problem either. And like you said, the SS is not a figure. Sooo I'm curious to what exactly made you wonder. :)
Anywho, some FAQs here: http://www.descentinthedark.com/_s_/shadow_soul.php

It was just our first game with the Shadow Soul so I wanted to verify. I hadn't encountered a similar situation before...

I also have just encountered this Familiar and have a question.
Shadow Soul has 5 MP and has 3 possible courses of action A) Swap places with the Shadow Soul, B) Move the Shadow Soul to an empty space adjacent to the owner, or C) Do nothing with the Shadow Soul.
So if the owner is 10 spaces away, B) is not a usable option? This seems very limiting.. since I think this means Shadow Soul cannot move at all.

You perform A, B or C at the Start of your Turn (no range limitation) then, after the hero finished his turn, the Shadow Soul can move 5 squares on its own...
