We're hard at work over here at TMG headquarters on the first couple expansions for Eminent Domain, and we need your help!
The expansion adds some more Technology cards, but more importantly it expands on the role of Fighters in the game. The different sized ships are no longer all just Fighters - they are Fighters, Destroyers, and Dreadnaughts - and they are used for different things. In fact, some of the new Tech cards can be purchased with Fighters instead of Research symbols! Some of the new technology even allows you to attack Planets in opponents' Empires.
The new content really compounds the number of options you have as a player, creating several new strategic paths as well as additional ways to pursue your old favorite strategies. Before this expansion is finalized I want to make sure it's well balanced and well liked, so I thought I would ask BGG and see if anyone's interested in helping out.
If you're interested in playtesting the expansion, then I can give you the art files to print out and try it! Visit this link, which takes you to my game design blog and provides the directions on how to proceed.
Thanks to all that are interested!!

I realized you can stick the expansion cards in sleeves (on top of the cards with a similar back), but where do you get extra cards with a similar back? Or do you simply get sleeves with a non-transparent back?

I put the double sided cards in sleeves, back-to-back, by themselves, but for the other cards, I just used some of the cards off the stack. It has been my intention to playtest with just 2p, so I could use 2 of the Politics, and just fairly equal numbers across the other roles. Colonize especially, since Warfare is probably going to be more popular at least while playtesting. The other thought was to put cards back into the stacks when they were removed from the game, and to play until all the VPs were depleted instead of worrying about how many cards were left in any stacks.
Does it change the game a little? Sure. But I don't think it's enough to invalidate observations about how the playtest cards are affecting the game. Unfortunately, I've had the cards for a while, but every time I've played EmDo in the last few weeks, there have been new players to teach, so I haven't gotten a pt session in.

Possiblities:
-Stick them in sleeves with some other kind of card -Proxy literally everything -Don't look at your deck while you're shuffling it

You could get opaque sleeves (that's what I use for playtesting) and put the printed expansion cards in the sleeve with an old Magic card or something, but those sleeves are more expensive (though also usually better).
Another option is to get all transparent sleeves, and then back all of the cards with old Magic cards (if you have them). This is less ideal because the thickness of 2 cards is very different than the thickness of 1 card plus cardstock/paper..

Oh we are so ready to roll with this. I even have 300+ extra sleeves that match the ones we use for our normal sets. Will the expansions eventually be featured on kickstarter?

Oh well, I'll be a few hundred miles from my printer by then. Though maybe I can print off a bit at a hotel.
There'll be plenty of time to play later though.

Seth, how many cards does will the prototype expansion add? I want to make sure I have enough sleeves for them all. Could you let me know the number of double-sided cards (for clear sleeves) and single-sided cards (for black sleeves)? Thanks!
I plan on printing the prototype onto normal paper then using regular notecards to give it some backing in the sleeves.
We'll only playtest with one set. Wouldn't want to skew your data We'll do our dual-set shenanigans on our own.

I'm thinking the easiest thing to do is use cards which were already out of the game as backers, since most likely, at least a card or 3 will be trashed before too many tech cards are bought.
So just leave the printed cards out unsleeved, and throw them into whatever card is available when you buy it.

This morning I sent an email to all the people who emailed me requesting the files. That email included a link to the PDFs for the expansion. Thanks to everyone who was interested, and especially those who print the files and try them out! I look forward to your feedback.
Thanks!

Got em

I'm just in a hunt for Magic commons to use for backing for the new planets, and if I can find them today, I'm gonna try to break it out at my game group tomorrow!

No, I don't play Magic, that's why I don't have any commons to use as backers for this
And the regular cards are Magic-sized, so I want ones that'll at least be the right size for shuffling purposes.
