I would love to see a 2 player travel edition of Samurai similar to the travel edition of Ingenious. The board could be a plastic board in two pieces that could be hinged/folding or fit into place with tabs somehow. The tiles could be plastic and the hexagons on the map a raised grid like the Ingenious travel board. The trophies/statues could be pegs. The game would include two small velvet like pouches for drawing the tiles. Wouldnt this be awesome?

The iPad version could be a good substitute for a travel version.

I love playing portable games in restaurants with my wife or one of my kids while we wait for the food. So I would enthusiastically buy a travel version of this game even if I already had an ipad. I wont be springing for an ipad anytime soon, but I may soon get an ipod touch just so I can play Tigris and Samurai on the go.

Yes. Yes it would. Samurai is my most played game, mostly played two player with my fiance. We would definitely buy, and play the hell out of, a travel version like you describe.

No...but I heard that ends up taking up more space than the board game.

Print and play, often abbreviated as PNP, etc from "print 'n' play"

I won't ever laugh about anybody in "abbreviation things" 'couse we Germans have a total "Abrevation Mania" going on, and when you have fought yourself through "WYSIWYG" and things like that (in a regular conversation mind you!) you will never forget the humiliating sting that it bears...
