Just a quickie:

I'm coming back from a gaming hiatus (I left our table as a regular back in 2009~), and am sadly discovering my "local" store no longer exists. I used to order from Boards & Bits as, not only were their prices some of the cheapest on the net, they were based in Washington and would get games to me almost next day.

I still like Boards & Bits, and definitely want to continue supporting them, but now it seems they're exclusively based in Ohio and the shipping makes purchases less desirable (especially when looking for time critical expansions).

Yes, I've visited Portland area alternatives, and very much wish to support them as well (emphasis on Guardian Games, good people). However the prices are anywhere from 20-30% more than Boards & Bits. An online alternative would be nice.

Disclaimer:

I don't wish to turn this into an explicit advert for Boards & Bits, especially since this entire post is a bitter sweet eulogy to my steadfast commitment to them, but I certainly encourage anybody unfamiliar to google them up and check their pricing. Pretty cool kids.

That said, any other quality Northern California/Pacific Northwest based online retailers worth noting?

p.s. Anybody know the story behind the relocation of Boards and Bits? Before I stopped paying attention, they had both shops open and were selling units from both Ohio and Washington. Upon my recent return, however, they seem to only have stock based in Ohio.

Cardhaus is based in Lynnwood, WA. I've done a fair amount of business with them online and over the counter. Fair prices and I haven't had any negative experiences.

Cool options, thanks guys. However, just to be explicit, Boards and Bits still kills these prices:

Example:

Innsmouth Expansion, Arkham Horror

@ BB: http://www.boardsandbits.com/product_info.php?products_id=21... ($33.46)

@Cardhus: http://www.cardhaus.com/catalog/board_games/arkham_horror__i... ($45.95)

@Funagain: http://www.funagain.com/control/product?product_id=020150 ($39.99)

Still, thank you. I didn't know Cardhus was located in Washington and had forgotten about Funagain.

Cardhause usually has good prices. They used to be lower, though. BnB isn't really beating anyone on average.

Do you really find yourself with no games to play during that extra day of waiting for new games to arrive?

funagain games for sure. they are in Ashland oregon, will get there in 2 days, and well no issues with sales tax that sometimes happens with washington mail order stores....(not all stores are as on top of it as amazon.)

Support Oregon business, support funagain.

Funagain generally costs a few bucks more, but they have an outstanding inventory and a low $75 free-shipping threshold.
