- We found a copy of Upwords at the thrift store yesterday for the princely sum of 75 cents. J's parents love this game and play it over and over. I played once before but didn't like it then, but this time I had a good time. The scores were neck and neck through most of the game. One of the pleasant aspects of the game is the broad changes that can happen in a turn. A single letter can change multiple words leaving you with a very different board to work on. In the end, J sailed passed me to win 310 to 289. I look forward to playing again. This is definitely a game that takes some time to get the feel of.
