LOL, I was thinking about folding. DL 3, yeah right (More on that later). Admittedly, Orc Horn Blower is about the worst card you can draw during setup.

Player 1 plays Ancient Mathom on Goblin Tunnels.
Player 2 plays Henamarth Riversong.

Player 1 commits Dwalin.
Player 2 commits Thalin and Bifur.

Encounter deck reveals Upper Hall (Threats at 33/27) and Goblin Spearman (Dealt 1 damage).

Player 1 plays Hail of Stones, exhausting Boromir and Thalin to deal 2 damage to Goblin Scout.

Willpower of 7 to a threat of 11 = Threats are raised by 4 (Now at 37/31).

Here, I'm still thinking I'm playing for the form, will never recover from that but will post it just to show people how tough this scenario can be.

Because of Plundered Armoury, Thalin can't block Chieftain of the Pit anymore.

Dain Ironfoot blocks Goblin Spearman, Shadow card is Goblin Scout (No effect).
Legolas attacks Chieftain of the Pit, dealing him 3 damage.
Boromir atacks and kills Goblin Spearman.

Player 1's Threat = 41.

Boromir blocks Goblin Swordsman, Shadow card is Plundered Armoury (No effect). Boromir is dealt 1 damage.

Player 1 readies Boromir (Threat at 44).

Legolas+Dain Ironfoot+Boromir attack and kill Cave-Troll (2 progress tokens are put on Plundered Armoury, it is explored, Player 1 attaches Blade of Gondolin to Dwalin and Player 2 attaches Dwarven Axe to Bifur), 1 progress token is put on the quest card.
Dwalin attacks and kills Goblin Swordsman, Player 1's threat is reduced to 42, 1 progress token is put on quest card.

Round 4 - Refresh phase

Player 1's Threat = 43.

Dwalin+Legolas attack and kill Goblin Swordsman, Player 1's threat is reduced to 41, 3 progress tokens are put on Goblin Tunnels (It is explored, Ancient Mathom triggers, Player 1 draws Gandalf, Horn of Gondor and Unexpected Courage), 1 progress token is put on quest card (Now at 7/15).

Holy crap, nice set of cards.

Gandalf is discarded from play, Dwalin gets 1 resource.

If Player 2 doesn't draw Gandalf soon, I'll be on a clock, especially with the Upper Halls about to be reshuffled.

Legolas is readied using Unexpected Courage. He then attacks and kills Goblin Spearman (3 progress tokens are put on the quest card, now at 14/17).

At least I'm ready to counter Hidden Threat but there's absolutely nothing I can do vs Upper Hall. Oh well, 2 cards out of 23.

Player 1 commits all 3 Zigil Miners and Dain Ironfoot (Readied using Erebor Record Keeper).

Encounter deck reveals Goblin Archer (Killed by Thalin, 1 progress token removed from the quest card) and Goblin Spearman (Dealt 1 damage, 1 progress token removed from the quest card).

Here, I think I'm out of the frying pan but...

End of staging, 2 more cards are revealed : Goblin Swordsman (Dealt 1 damage, 1 progress token removed from the quest card) and Orc Horn Blower (Dealt 1 damage) surging into Goblin Spearman (Dealt 1 damage, 1 progress token removed from the quest card, now at 10/17).

Being unsure, I played this as if whatever was revealed by Surge would take effect, no matter if it was a location or a treachery. Not sure if I was correct, the quest card specifies that only enemies are put into play but I think if some of them have Surge, then the additional cards behave normally.

Willpower of 16 to a threat of 12 = 4 progress tokens are put on the quest card (14/17).

I'll say it again : I believe this is one of the toughest scenarios released so far. For the first time, it's as if all encounter cards were designed to work together and create one hellish jam-pack of enemies. There's no dead cards there, no breaks, it's a grind all the way to the end. I can't believe they rated this a 3. I usually don't care about comparisons but in that case, I'm curious to hear about other people's scores.

My best scores for this quest around 85. But i play solo mostly.I mean with one deck.
Yes for solo game this quest can be really tough sometimes but for 2 players is quite easy. Difficult 3 worth only for 2 player game.

I love this quest but in my opinion is really easy for 2 player game.
