**** Every 3rd Saturday, below was OP and more info

Open gaming 1pm til midnight+ in Salem NH this Saturday
May 19th. If you can't make it this Saturday it's almost
always the 3rd Saturday of every month.

Le Marshalate is a gaming group that I've only been playing
with for the last couple years but my understanding has been
meeting/gaming for over 30 years.

Cost is FREE for 1ST TIMERs, $5 for everyone else (up to
paying a max of $30 in a calendar year). The cost goes
toward paying for the hall rental.

Types of games played are varied, I'm mainly a Euro player
myself but there is always an 18xx game played by some,
some come specifically for play a war game (with tweezers
sometimes!), and a crayon rail game is also possible (Empire
Builder, etc). According to the monthly newsletter what was
played last month are below.

-Jeff

There were 14 reported games played at our April meeting. We had 12 members and 5 guests playing an assortment of board games. We have collected $430 toward our yearly rent of $600.

from this months newsletter... good if you are not coming near 1pm. Thanks Tim!!!

Game Day Arrangements
by Tim Allen
Having served as LM "Key Master" since the beginning of the year, I have noticed that a typical game day in Salem starts out slowly with people arriving in dribs and drabs, here and there, until there is a critical mass to start a game or two. Sometimes this leads to a (minor) dilemma where people have just put 30 minutes or so into starting a new game when in through the door more new players arrive.
To facilitate game starts, I am offering a new "service": on game days people are invited to text my cell 603-867-0822 with their times of arrival, number of people in their group, and a word or two about the kinds of games that they would prefer (for example: "railroad", "18xx", "hex&zoc", "euro", "dominion", "card driven", etc.); whereupon, I will post the info from these texts where others in the hall may see them. At this point, people should think of their texts as a "one way" communication to me since I do not anticipate returning replies -- but let's see how this works for us over the next few months.

sometime someone will post something to the listserv but the main gaming of this group, that's been around for over 30 years I'm told, is the 3rd Saturday of every month. They used to meet in Nashua to game at the Oddfellows Building on Main St but I only discovered them since they've been meeting in Salem NH

Hmmm... I'm going down to CT for gaming on the 18th. I'll try to go to this in September though. This is actually closer for me.

I was at gen con for August. I am aiming to be there for September! Do you think anyone would be interested in playing Civilization 2010 version? I also got a lot of great games at Gen con to try. I don't really know what people plan to play though. =)

I know someone mentioned Civ this last gaming session but no guarantee what will be played. Myself I played Tower of Babel, Vikings, Eclipse, and maybe something else. I don't remember what others were playing... sadly I won't be able to make it in Sept but hope to make it in October

I went up yesterday and had a good time. I played Starship Merchants, Epic Spell Wars of the Battle Wizards Duel at Mt Skullzfyre, Zombicide, Castles of Burgundy and Dicetown. I'll definitely go back, the only issue is that my friends in CT have an all day gaming event the third Saturday of every month as well.

I'm curious about the newsletter.

I heard about this group and went up last month with some of my friends from MA. We had a great time and played several games. Everyone was really nice and we plan on returning.

While we were there, at least three different people sat down with us, welcomed us and wrote down our names and email. We were told it was for a newsletter. I haven't seen the newsletter yet but it's mentioned in Jeffy Jeff's latest post.

I believe Franklin is the one still maintaining the subscription list, if you give him your email at one of the meetings he'll add you to it I believe

I found it. It started off talking about a convention in Schenectady, NY. I thought it was an invitation, decided it was too far to drive and didn't read the rest.

My bad.
