Hello everyone, I've been working on designing and creating a 3d representation of Arkham Horror using various models and railroad modeling scenery. It's coming along nicely but still tons to do.

Tentative Rough Layout

Soutside/Uptown Neighborhoods

Gate Opening (model from Dreamblade series; re-painted)

Here a few of the models I'll use for monters
Deep One

Maniac

Rough Layout of Middle area

Black Cave

Still lots to do, will upload more pics tomorrow. I'll be working on the river docks / unvisited isle

Added the Other Worlds. I also want to add some slime to floor up here. Any ideas how to do that?

Silver Twilight Lodge

Bird's eye view lengthwise

Bird's eye view horizontal

Lake where Colour out of Space lands with Curiossite shoppe in background

Graveyard and Black Cave

I still have a lot of trees to plant and glue down all the roads but I might try my first game tomorrow.

Yes, I have seen those. Very nice.

I updated the first post with some more pics. Is this the best way to keep this ongoing or will I lose the ability to edit my post later on? I am also looking for ideas to complete this, it's still a work in project and nothing is set in stone.

For slime, try water effects resin, possibly with a drop or two of ink in it.

Cheers, Hal

Wow, and I thought setup took long already... A+ for effort, but it seems very impractical. Where would you possibly store this?

I have some water effects but I was thinking it would spread out. Should I make a puddle, let it dry, make another on top so it has layers?

as for storing, it will be cut into 3 sections so I can store it in a spare bedroom when not in use. Right now the total dimensions are 3'x7'

If you use a little at a time, that should work. If it spreads out too much, just get some cheap clay to make a border on a piece of cardboard, then pour in the water effects.

OOC, what scale of RR models are you using (i.e. HO, N, etc.)?
And how big is the actual layout?

I'm using N scale but the monsters are not N scale, more like HO probably. But, there isn't much I can do about that.

The layout is going to 3'x7' in 3 sections.

It's amazing and somehow ramps up the horror by a factor of ten. I feel like I recognize some of those buildings.

Another approach for slime is to get some Elmer's clear glue and add coloring. You'd probably have to do that in layers so it sets all the way but that'd just add to the effect. Plus you can experiment cheaply and it's not toxic.

Most of these models are from this website. They are surprisingly only $5 a piece!

The silver twilight lodge model was more expensive though and I had to put it together. But it was enjoyable to do so.

I still need to pick up a few more models to complete it.
I like this one for the General Store
