I took s step backwards in awe of Big Jay's wall o'games and bumped in to another wall o'games behind me. Which then toppled and flipped the server switch in Texas.

It's a Massive wall o'games it you haven't seen it.

As part of the Canadian Al Qaeda conspiracy we've sent Big Jay to Windsor to build a giant Wall of Games so we can push it over and squash Detroit.

I hit thrift store gold yesterday. I found an OOP in-shrink copy of Modern Art for $1.30 -- with the marketplace copies selling between $40-75! Sweet.

Having worked for GW for a decade I know how this happens...

Fantasy Flight says they want to make a Talisman game for Warhammer 40,000 -- Sounds good to me!

"Will it have little plastic pieces like the Fantasy Flight version of Talisman? (Not, mind you, like the stupified version Black Industries (GW) made with cardboard counters. shake )"

"Sure will!"

"Cool!"

But! Then the noodle-heads at GW take over and decide "Well, the game can't actually have little plastic space marines and sisters of battle and imperial guards and stuff 'cause that will hurt our miniature sales."

"Oh -- umm -- well, what do you propose?"

"Let's cut their legs off."

Proposed fix:

End result is a suggested 120mm, which would be fairly huge and would in no way be compatible with any GW game (not even Inquisitor).

Well personally I would only miss Detroit for the casinos I visit there.

Then again not losing my money could be a good thing...

My middle brother is actually moving San Fran here in about a month. Sadly that will be busy time at work for me so probably no visits.

I will definitely get out there at some point. I've never been west of Chicago in my life shake

I've been on the fence about X-Wing. I think that if I get it I can snag a few more of my friends into gaming since they will do anything Star Wars related that doesn't suck bad. But is it worth the input cost when you're on a relatively tight budget.

For $100 USD (if you shop around and get free shipping), you can get the core game plus 6 or 7 expansion ships. This is enough to do tournament play and have epic 2-player battles. That's what I have right now and have no desire to add to the collection. The variations in reply value are quite large, so it's possible to have different ships with different upgrades for several sessions. And since it's heavily weighed on dice rolls, the outcome could go differently between identical set-ups.

But yes, it is a system game, and can end up being costly. System games prey on the miniature completist geek.

Game night was fun tonight! Had 5 friends come over.

First, the 6 of us play tested my dice game that I've been working on. It was the 3rd session with the current rules, which have gone through about four major changes thus far. No hiccups or glitches; everything went smoothly and I don't foresee any rule edits or dice face changes in the near future. Time to now play test it like mad and maybe blind play test it with thriends.

Next, we had a 5-player session of Chicken Caesar, which was a blood bath but very hoopy! Lots of backstabbing and laughter all around!

Then, 4 of us finished the night with King of Tokyo and King of Tokyo: Power Up!. It was a very close finish. 3 of us died in the same round!
