I am flexible about the name/mouseover, and would love some ideas.

I think the Ratings Outage badge is a good idea. I came here to ask if anyone was going to make one. What if it were a white/blank star on the screen instead of N/A?

Personally, I don't think we need one for every outage, and we tend to get one. Unless the crowd demands it, I can't see approving yet another badge for an outage.

Oh is that where it is? Weird. I have to say it took me a while to find it even though I knew it existed. I'd never heard it called footbag before it was posted here. Perhaps something can be done to help people find it more easily?

I'd recommend naming it hacky sack so that anyone under 40 knows where to find it

That's what I always called it growing up but I'm not sure if it is known by that name outside of the US.

I like the pixelated version but not knowing what slacklining was (had to go look it up) I thought the line was meant to be a shadow since it follows the contours of the arms. I don't think you need to change the badge but it might be worth putting up a reference photo alongside the poll so people like me who don't get the reference can see and more easily give positive feedback I'm voting yes for the pixelated version (agree the other one looks like a surfer/snowboarder/skateboarder).

Interesting. We have 27+ votes for this. I wonder why? We, on average get at most 12 votes for a badge.

Polls that attract attention from outside of the usual thread clientele (as in the case of some badges related to the wargame subcommunity) tend to produce a little different results. I agree with you and Kevin that there's no reason to immortalize random database mishaps (and also there was a resounding no to my Sad Meeple so why should anyone else get to have fun).

Love Duck Tales and like this but his face looks a bit greenish-blue to me, the original didn't, not sure if this is something you could touch up a little?

Yeah it is due to his eye color, but since the image is so small I might be able to either white it out or make it black to pop out a bit.

Thanks,

I was around for the other outages in that category. I cannot for the life of me remember why it was a big deal. Out for a day? A couple of hours?

This one was such a minor glitch.

I think the google group badges cover "all outages" well.

Generally I think it doesn't specifically say "Duck Tales", and that taking the DT letters from the logo or a character unique to that series might be more appropriate.

I could have sworn someone made a badge with Launchpad's head but I can't find it.

Yes, I know, and so is this: mb

(While we're talking BGG Down, I had some small doubts about taking the Ernie screen, the most direct graphic representation of BGG being down, and using it for a badge whose subject is essentially the same as mb. It could be argued that that's the image that had been used for the first badge if it had existed at the time, but as it is, it feels a little like a missed opportunity to represent some other and perhaps more fundamental/neutral/humorous aspect of BGG downity.)

Edit: Found the Launchpad badges. Posted a little over a year ago and apparently never finalized.

Btw, this is not about about a BGG outage. It is about the ratings outage. The "Great" part is there to provide humour. I feel like I had to explain that. shake I picked that category because I thought it was the most relevant. If someone feels like it should be in a different category, please let me know.

For example, should it be here?

Thats a funny one!
You should make it the same color as the respective patron badge, so that you can make one for each year we had/have a big outage.
