Remove the "2012" and it should be good. (From the badge and the description/mouseover.)

Fix the 2s in 2012 so that it isn't just a vertical wall of orange on the left and right edges. You just need to add semi-transparency to one pixel on each side.

This badge doesn't look good, but I wanted to see if the idea would work. It will work, but it would need a lot more work from someone more skilled at drawing than me. I am not sure I will be able to fix his legs so they aren't so pixelated.

These all work, but did you try for instance adding a dropshadow of the appropriate colour to each of them?

That is a huge impreovement! I would make the Sting of Lolth glow a little more pronounced and the Curse of the Undeath a little less pronounced. The Sting's glow is difficult to see and the Curse's glow is overpowering.

Is there a reason that you horizontally flipped this one? It throws you off a bit. IMO.

Looks more like a star than a cogwheel, and I'm not sure the letters "SP" do much to capture the subject.

So the cog isn't cogish enough? I'll work on that. And as for the "SP", the current Speampunk badges mb and mb, do THEY capture the subject more? I'm honestly asking. It's not an easy subject to capture in a 16x16 image

Here's another attempt:

The problem is the cover shows the icon pointing left, but all the in-game cards point right. I just follow the in-game cards direction. Strange that this is happening. While Goblins and Undeath are more or less symmetrical, Lolth is not. And for Lolth, both cover and in-game cards are the same. Only Cormyr is such...

The new cog is very cogish, but the SP doesn't look as good. I think the letter need some boldness! (And I don't mean bold font) They need to stand out without be so obtrusive to the rest of the badge.

It's be cool if you could get a few cogs into the image to look like a working gear box. Mot this many, but perhaps 3

I can't see the angularity of your letters in the source, is this intentional?

Archon313 wrote:

Well, yes... ish. The cog aims for simplicity (or cops out, who knows) and the other is some kind of steam-driven insect walker thing I guess? Putting the letters SP on a different cog is a little like taking a spaceship and adding the letters SF on top of it to make a new science fiction badge - the spaceship itself is enough, even if it doesn't encompass all that SF is.

Also why am I commenting on all of these badges aren't there any others who can complain about badges where did you badge making people go

The two I commented on before look better, except
looks worse. The glow now highlights that the icon is blurry. The blur wasn't as noticable in
or
, but that top bit is way out of focus.

I know. I tried some of that. Not enough space. Though I had the good old "SP" in there. The word "Steampunk" wouldn't fit, you see. Here's an example

I like this concept better than the SP-on-cog, but it could probably do with more contrast. And softened corners.

I like this a lot! Much better than your other design. Make the cogs stick out a little better from the background (contrast) and it would be perfect!
