I don't own this game (and therefore haven't read the rulebook), so this may be a clear rule that our group has just missed, but what happens when, likely due to one's building upgrades or caravan activity (and possibly to over commiting in different areas), one has run out of cubes on his/her turn?

We have played that you don't have enough cubes, so if you've got two cubes left and you take three dice, you can only place two of them, or you could take cards/move "provost". We've never had it where a player had 0 cubes on his turn, just not enough to fully resolve the cube placement. Is there a specific ruling on this?
Thanks in advance

Read the FAQ - no component limitations. Sorry for the clutter.

First of all, are you sure you have all the rules correct? Running out of cubes is very difficult to achieve, since the board resets itself after seven 'days'. I can imagine that a full caravan coupled to some lucky rolls in the 'tower' and a full house of buildings can cause the cubes to run out, but this is not a regular occurrence by any means.

That said, according to the Yspahan FAQ the cubes (and camels, and coins) are unlimited in supply, they are not meant to be artificially limited. Use a substitute if you ever run out.

Yeah, we're playing it correctly. Usually someone runs out of cubes on the 6/7 day of week three. It happens when all your buildings are full and you've placed an extra cube each turn, due to that building, and that's without having multiple unfinished areas (one in each of the three common areas)

I played a two-player game today and already ran out of cubes in the beginning of week 3 :-)

Maybe this is a problem of the two player game!? This game was designed for 3-4 players.
