How much of the Patliputra map should be used?

I ask this because the setup instructions say:

Quote:

Use the PATALIPUTRA (W) plus the CAMP EXTENSION (E) maps. The eastern or right-hand edge (hex column xx44) of the PATALIPUTRA map should be aligned with the western of left-hand edge (hex colum xx00) of the CAMP EXTENSION map.

So according to that we use from the right hand edge of the Pataliputra to some point farther west (left) on the map. As far as the written instructions go that point would be the other edge of the map, making the play area 1.5 maps wide.

The setup image in the scenario only shows part of the Pataliputra map in use though. Said part is more than half based on the location of the logo, but less than the full map.

Was that just to save space? Or is it trying to indicate a cutoff point for the edge of the map in play?

While I realize that no fighting will be likely to take place over there, a large space to rout across can make a big difference in the outcome of GBoH games.
