Per Connie's reply above

I think in the past I've shot for December 1 as the date by which I try to have all the work done and geekmails sent.

Yeah it takes forever this way but I can personalize the assignments and make sure husbands don't get assigned their wives, Québécois don't get assigned Québécois, etc.

(I'm done matching senders with recipients and am up to the C's sending geekmails. Working on it right now. And listening to The Brady Bunch Christmas Album on Spotify.)

Finished making my cards yesterday, all ready to be filled out when the addresses come through. I had a lot of fun making the cards (technological headaches not withstanding).

Yay! Received my list! Thank Connie for organising this and for all the hard work!

I just wrote all my cards, lots of USA-recipients ;) Now I have to wait for my old school guilder stamps to arrive, unfortunately they aren't here yet.

Just curious, but why do you all shorten words like street, drive, avenue etc?

Interesting question. I don't have an official answer, but it does keep the street signs shorter and it is easier to fit abbreviated words on a post card.

My WAG - that part of the address just isn't that important. The primary information is in the house number and street name. The modifier (street, drive, avenue, court, circle, etc) usually only matters when a town has a couple of streets with identical names (Oak Drive and Oak Court).
