Maybe sometime today?

[Some Mayan experts follow the] Lounsbury/GMT+2 correlation ... which sets the 13.0.0.0.0 date on 23rd December 2012 instead of 21st Dec.

No kaboom, but my computer has a sense of humor.

I'm a big fan of Civilization IV, and play a lot, letting the computer pick a random civ for me to play each game.

Out of a possible random selection of about 50 civs (Mayans only being one choice in there) - my computer has 'randomly' selected me to start as the Mayans 5 of my last 8 games (played close to or on the 21st).

This Marc Zanderhttp://www.theatlanticwire.com/national/2012/05/safe-new-may...? So do they agree that this represents the end of the world, or just that the date of the end of the cycle is wrong? The notion of a ‘Great Cycle’ coming to an end is completely a modern invention. In 1990, Mayanist scholars Linda Schele and David Freidel argued that the Maya “did not conceive this to be the end of creation, as many have suggested".
