Thoughout history there have been great rivals. The rivals have competed and in doing so have made each other better. There is Coke and Pepsi, McDonalds and Burger King, Cats and Dogs, Batman and Joker, Spy vs Spy, Mac vs PC, Evolution vs Creationism, Red vs Blue, and you get the point. So, here I am and I offer you the alternative. Don't worry there is no Kool-Aid to drink. Post what you wish and have a good time!

Just make sure that when you go back to work, you don't smell of beer and Doritos. And, whatever you do, when anyone is talking about the games, make sure you feign total ignorance of the scores for at least 3 days.

Hope you feel better!

My favorite series ever is Dragon Quest. If it was not for the original game then role playing games would never have been popular in America. I remember I was ten when I played the first one on the NES and was hooked. I have replayed all the games many times thoughout my life. I just saw a few days ago that there was four of them released for the DS! I didn't own a DS so I never gave it much attention to what games were released for it.

I tried Mario Kart 7 today. They had it set up on display and it seemed like it was pretty fun but I didn't think it would have much of a solo replay value. If anyone owns it and would like to play it with me then I will definitely pick it up! Or if you have any other games you enjoy and would like to play with me then let me know!

I think you are having it confused because the title. Originally when it first came out on the NES the first four games were "Dragon Warrior". There were no new games released in America again until a few years ago, nearly 15 years, but the series was still popular in Japan with sequels. Then a few years ago they started releasing the Japanese sequels under the Japanese name of "Dragon Quest".

Well it was kind of a crappy game. Wait wait wait.. LEFT! wait wait wait wait wait JUMP ahhh crap, you died. Next!

It looked so impressive though because it was one of the first games to use fully animated sequences as the main graphics. Only feasible using digital technology.. so it gave the the appearance of actually controlling a character on the screen in a way that moving an 8 bit icon around didn't.

I remember playing the original NES version as a kid, one of the first rpg's I ever beat. Mario Kart 7 does have great online play support, either through friend codes so you can play specific people, or just playing random people from around the world online.

Anybody a Walking Dead fan? Question about the last episode. If everyone carries the virus then what is so special about being bitten by a zombie and turning you into one? Because if a zombie even bites you, but does not kill you, you turn into a zombie. Since you already have the virus then you turn into one a zombie when you die or turn into a zombie when you are bitten by one; I don't understand this last part.

I tried to make it pretty spoiler free just incase nobody saw it, yet. My friend is a doctor and he responded to this question and here is what he had to say . . .

my best guess is that they are all infected with a latent virus that only activates upon death. The Walking Dead are activated virulent forms of infection. A bite from the virulent, activated strain would overwhelm the system, but the latent virus is kept in check until brain function stops. My best guess. This is after all, a TV show.

Off to bed for tomorrow starts another wonderful work week for me of being yelled at by people on the phone. Having pics of my wife does make it easier when I am being yelled at and reminds me why I am there. I know Monday is already over but have a great week everyone!

Today I thank God for inspiring me to contact my former employer (that laid me off in 2009). This afternoon I got a phone call from them and was offered my position back! surprise What an answer to prayer as I had asked for a better job just an hour prior to the phone call. This represents a 60+% increase in pay and will allow me to comfortably provide for my family.

EDIT: typos

She needs a Belgian kidsID when she goes to another country, and since we're often in the Netherlands and in Germany we better get it. Those first two months she crossed the border illegally weekly! laugh
And we want her to have a Dutch ID because they're going to change the law about double nationality and then she can't have it anymore. But if she already has it, they won't take it away again...

Today was a difficult day...

About two weeks ago, we noticed a lump on our dog's leg. She's a golden retriever. The lump was about the size of a marble. We scheduled an appointment with the vet for last week and took her in. The vet took a sample of the lump and sent it to the lab.The results came back that it was a tumor so we scheduled a surgery for tomorrow to have the tumor removed. In the meantime, this lump didn't stop growing. Sky (our dog) would lick it and bite at it constantly causing it to bleed. The vet had us start her on antibiotics. Last night as we changed the dressing on the tumor, it was dripping blood like a leaky faucet. This morning, there was a pool of blood underneath Sky where she slept last night. When she stood up, the blood just kept dripping out of the dressing. We took her into the vet this morning to see if the surgery could be done today instead of tomorrow. The vet had an opening and worked her in today, but the tumor was too big (about the size of a plum) to remove safely and without a skin graft. We made the decision to have her leg amputated instead in order to give her a fighting chance to get all of the tumor removed. That was a very difficult decision to make. Sky is still at the hospital tonight recovering, but the surgery went well. We get her back tomorrow. I hope that she adapts well and that the tumor is completely gone and did not metastacize (spelling?). Thanks for listening.

We had to have surgery on our first beagle twice, once for eating a penny and once for eating yarn. Total cost about $5000. Was it worth it? Yes.

Best of luck with her.

Ah man, that sucks. How old is he?

She will turn six in July.

Here is hoping that she will turn 7 next July.

Thank you all for the kind thoughts.

Sky is learning to "hop" around the house pretty well already, except for stairs. She is showing signs of returning to her usual energetic self. At least when we have just given her the pain medication. I hope she makes a full recovery.

I just wrote my first review a couple days ago; luckily it got approved. I am trying to save up to become a geekgold thousandaire. Geekmodding is good for geekgold but adds up very slowly. I guess I could just post in an auction and buy some geekgold but it seems like cheating to me.

I think I have read about 10 different people say they have helped. I don't think it takes that many for approval and that maybe some people are getting me confused with another handsome guy?

Took a holiday today; had to take it today or it would have expired and I would have lost it. Went to Dave and Busters and I found a game I could buy for tickets that I have not seen before. Going to look in the database and hope it's not there.

Some love is worth waiting for!

Going to post the game tonight. I keep procrastinating and forgetting to do it. The main reason I bought it is because I knew a friend would like it and it was just a bonus for me that it was not in the database. I went yesterday to get another one becasue someone else saw it and loved it but Dave and Busters didn't have any more. They had about 50 when I was there last week and now they decided to stop carrying it.

In other news I have an ultra sound for my stomach next Monday. The stomach pains have still not gone away. The ultrasound should be pretty funny. I hope it is the same as you see on TV that they do for pregnant women. I never take anything serious, and am always joking even if it is something serious, so I am sure I will crack a 100 jokes during the ultrasound. Someone told me I might get some tubes or cameras shoved up my butt if I have to see more doctors; I only hope that is the case because that will be hilarious and I will be sure to take pics!

What's up folks?

Recently played my first game of Pente... it was underwhelming.

On a brighter note, I taught a bunch of kids from middle school to play Hansa and they did quite well!

Pente is a challenging abstract, but without theme, if can fall flat. I only played it a few times. I was quite a bit younger...so holding my attention in a game usually required swords, tanks or space battles. Exciting action versus placing stones, especially at that age, usually ended up with something action related.

Yeah... it seemed OK but a little too familiar and not different enough and yeah, with no tanks or lasers.

I got it and othello at the same time recently and have been all about playing othello with my wife. I should teach her Pente and see if she likes it.

I really like both of these games. I have more plays of Othello on Yucata than any other game.
