Where has 2013 gone? I can not believe that it is almost time for the holidays. I hope that 2013 has been a good year for you. Just so you remember who I am, let me tell you a few things about myself. I am 33 years old and have been happily married for seven years. My husband and I have no children (unless you count our fake baby which is a beagle named Winnie), which means more time for our two passions: traveling and board games!!!
I got my first board game approximately 8 years ago. It was Settler's of Catan. My collect grew slowly after that. It wasn't until about three years ago that I became more focused on board gaming or as my husband would say...addicted. I am actually the one that got my husband into board games. We have a bit of a role reversal going on there
My husband and I usually celebrate Christmas with family. Our parents live in Wisconsin. Sometimes they come to visit us in Iowa or we go there. Unfortunately, I have not managed to really suck his family into hard core board gaming. The best we can do is getting them to play party games like "Catch Phrase" or "Title Recall." This is still fun but nothing beats a good brain burner like "Trajan." Am I right Santa!!?
I want to ensure you Santa that I have been a very good girl this year. I always eat my vegetables and force, I mean ask, my husband to play at least one game with me a week. I am also lucky enough to have some good gamer friends, namely two single guys who we have come play board games with us on the weekends. We have a thing called "Eurogame Sundays." If you decide to bring either one of them girlfriends for Christmas, please make sure they like board games as we can't lose them
Thanks for reading my letter Santa. Also thank you for working hard to make the season bright for everyone!

Hi Santa! I hope you see this. I got a fun card from you in the mail
Thank you. It was funny because my husband and I were recently in Germany for Spiel 2013. At first I thought the card was from one of the bed and breakfast's that my husband and I stayed at. I put the card on the refrigerator and didn't think more of it. It was at least a day later before I decided to put the sentences on the card into google translate. I was so surprised to see that it was from Santa, not the bed and breakfast just trying to get us to come back lol. He he he Update for Santa 12/30/13
Santa, I don't know if you check back here anymore but thank you so much for Brugges! I was out of town with family and didn't get to open my last present until this past Sunday. Thank you for being so generous and have a wonderful 2014.
