I grew up in the 80s and 90s playing many board and card games in rural Pennsylvania. After moving to Silicon Valley (San Francisco Bay Area) in 2004 I was introduced to the 'modern classics' Settlers of Catan and Carcassonne. Then I shared the love with many of my friends and family!
I enjoy learning and playing a wide variety of games. I believe that games should be self-consistent and good for what they are. In other words, a 30 minute 2-player card game and a 6 hour 5-person train game can both be excellant, but should not be directly compared.
Professionally I am a Software Engineer focussed on User Interface (UI), so I particularly like games that I feel have elegant designs.
