Once a hardcore RTS and FPS PC gamer, I've lost interest in what I percieve as the reworking of the same tired story lines, game engines and AI that offer no originality. In the past 5 years (at least!) I haven't seen anything new or original enough to interest me in spending $50 on a game and $1500 on the machine capable of running it.
Boardgames, on the other hand, are in a renaissance! I've yet to see everything and play everything, There's always somthing new to discover, and the people I've met have been wonderful. In the two years I've been here my collection has grown by leap and bounds but alas, I'm afraid I shall have to exercise restraint now. I simply have more games than I can play. So many in my collection deserve repeated plays but the constant buying pushes them back in priority. I shall have to be far more conservative in my buying habits in the future.
