A note on my BGG presence.
Always in the back of my mind while making comments and giving ratings on BGG is my role in the community as a publisher and designer. I could keep my BGG account very business-like. It would have to be very sterile when it comes to making comments because I wouldn't want to upset anyone. My game ratings would have to be similarly skewed. As you can imagine, that would be no fun for me.
What I decided to do was to keep my BGG account a personal account while always keeping in mind my other stations. First and foremost I will post as an individual. I will post my personal thoughts on games/news/ratings while also getting involved in publisher conversations. Of course I'll always post on my games, answering questions and taking suggestions.
A note on my ratings.
When rating games, I tend to use whole numbers (5, 6, 7). I adhere specifically to the ratings descriptions as described by BGG. I don't put a whole lot of stock in ratings in general, as they tend to be interpreted by different raters as meaning different things, but I will use them when making a buying decision after a significant number of ratings come in for a game.
